Logo rough draft

The following image is a logo for my blog. It’s supposed to tell about my hobbies and interests that center around me. It took some time to setting it up and drawing the images on hand.

I decided its best to make the image by starting off three squares, using the rectangular tool. Once I made my rectangles, I used the direct selection tool to scale the size and adjust the corners to form three squares into one three-dimensional cube. This part of the process was a bit tedious as I had to make the squares line up into one solid cube and not look cluttered and a mess. I also changed the colors of the outline from black to a orange color and made it as my choice for secondary color.

Not all three of the squares had the same size and gave them different shades of blue, going from bright to dark tones of blue to emphasize the 3D look. I then added a another set of three, but smaller squares and place them on top as the proper background for the images.

Next, I decided to work on the top square by sketching out a 3-D image of my two initials using the brush tool and made each letter either yellow or orange. The left square was a game controller with a wire running to a wall, all drawn with the brush tool and using two kinds of silver to create the base of the controller. Then, I added in some decorative things such as colorful buttons and a joystick.

For the square on the right, I decided to sketch out a music note to show my appreciation for music and art. I tried to add in a book, but it was tough to pull off an image that can fit onto the square.
