I used several techniques to complete the following image that represents the topic of my blog. I chose three topics to use for my project; an image of a x-box 360 controller that was found on a creative commons source, a picture of a journal written in a fictional novel format, and a cartoonish picture of a human brain. All three of these pictures were found on a website with a creative commons source called Flickr and I’ve carefully arranged and found a way to put it together for this collage.
So, the first part I worked with was the brain part. The image at first was a white brain in a white background. It occurred that I should probably change the color in order to give it some focus as the other two images, the controller and the writing notepad, have more detail and color than the other. There were many attempts to turn the brain into pink, such as using a layer mask and changing it’s color. However, the layer mask could barely display a change of color. So, I decided to pain over the white part of the brain carefully in pink. Then, I finished it off by filling the white background of the image into black.
The next part was kind of simple. I took the images of the controller and the notepad and moved it ontop of the brain. Then, I decreased the two images down as the brain took half of the screen. I realized from there I could create a picture that tells a good idea of my mind thinking of two of my favorite hobbies, gaming and writing. So, I decided to finish it off by creating the image of the mind having two thought bubbles by using two ellipse tools to present those thought bubbles. And that’s how I have created my rough draft of my collage.
